Customer Builds
This is the space to showcase some Max Effort customer builds. From unique projects to standout repairs, this section highlights the creativity, variety, and skill that goes into each build. With people coming in from all over, Kade’s seen it all—and here’s where you get to see some of the best.
This customer’s 2006 Cummins came to us after suffering a catastrophic failure—six melted pistons from a poorly done rebuild elsewhere. After discussing his power goals and intended use, it was clear he needed a full, reliable build capable of handling serious performance.
We started with a fully machined .020 over block, a polished OEM crank, and a Hamilton cam. For strength and durability, we added Mahle piston bowls, Carrillo rods with L19 hardware, and a 12mm Gorilla girdle to hold the bottom end together under the torque of his compound turbo setup.
The top end featured a fully machined fire-ringed head, #110 valve springs, Power Driven Diesel Stage 2 pushrods, and ARP 625 head studs. Fueling was handled with a dual CP3 setup using two stock 6.7 pumps, DDP 100% over injectors, and new feed tubes. Once assembled, we completed a proper break-in, checked valve lash, and retorqued the head.
The result? A street-driven truck making 1163 horsepower and 2131 lb-ft of torque—ready to daily drive, sled pull, and dirt drag without missing a beat.

This 2015 Dodge Cummins 2500 Laramie Longhorn came to us with a clear goal in mind: to create a powerful, efficient, and reliable daily driver that could also tow heavy loads without breaking a sweat. After discussing the customer’s expectations, we decided on a proven setup capable of comfortably pushing 750+ horsepower without sacrificing drivability or fuel mileage.
We started under the hood with a second-gen swap kit from Evil Fab, featuring a billet S467.7 turbocharger. To feed the beast, we paired the charger with S&S 80% over injectors and retained the stock CP3 pump for smooth, reliable fueling. Supporting mods included ARP head studs for cylinder pressure control, Hamilton Stage 2 pushrods for top-end durability, a billet intake plenum with a grid heater delete, and an upgraded intake horn. To keep the system fed and running efficiently, we added a Fleece PowerFlo in-tank lift pump—ensuring clean, consistent fuel delivery under load.
To transfer all that power to the pavement, we turned to Flatout Diesel for one of their trusted Stage 1.5 68RFE builds. This transmission package includes a billet input shaft, triple disc torque converter, and billet flexplate—providing the strength and reliability needed to handle real-world torque without compromise.
The end result? A clean, conservative-looking daily driver that packs serious performance. Whether it’s pulling a trailer through the mountains, cruising across the country, or driving to and from work, this Longhorn does it all—with over 23 mpg, rock-solid reliability, and luxury-level comfort.

This customer originally brought the truck in due to an unusual noise. After a thorough diagnostic process, we determined the engine needed to be pulled for a closer inspection. Once on the stand, we discovered that the #3 glow plug had broken off, resulting in severe piston and cylinder head damage.
All engine components were sent to the machine shop, where the block was cleaned up and bored .20 over. Upon return, the motor was fully reassembled using all new ARP and DHD hardware, Mahle pistons, a Fluidampr balancer, and all the supporting components needed to make this build solid and reliable.
Since the rebuild, we’ve also installed an S400 kit along with upgraded exhaust manifolds and up-pipes — making this truck not only dependable for daily driving and towing his boat, but also an absolute blast to drive.
